Privacy Policy

1. Introduction & Core Philosophy
At SwiftUtils.net ("SwiftUtils", "we", "us", or "our"), accessible at https://swiftutils.net/, we hold a firm belief that your data belongs exclusively to you. The foundation of SwiftUtils was built upon client-side processing: wherever technologically viable, our converters, calculators, and text formatters operate entirely inside your web browser utilizing modern web standards such as WebAssembly, HTML5 File API, and client-side JavaScript.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is handled, and your legal rights regarding privacy when accessing our online utility suite.
Our Zero-Server-Upload Guarantee
When you upload an image for conversion (e.g. HEIC to JPEG, SVG to PNG), merge PDF files, convert UNIX timestamps, format JSON data, or perform financial tax calculations, your documents, files, and numbers are NOT uploaded to our servers. All computation takes place in memory on your local machine or mobile device. Once you close your browser tab, no persistent trace of your file content remains with us.
2. Third-Party Advertising & Google AdSense
To maintain SwiftUtils as a 100% free service without subscription fees or paywalls, we partner with third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense.
- Third-Party Vendors: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertisements based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites on the internet.
- DoubleClick DART Cookie: Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its advertising partners to serve personalized ads to our users based on their navigation patterns across SwiftUtils and other destinations on the World Wide Web.
- Opting Out of Personalized Advertising: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or Network Advertising Initiative.
3. Server Log Files & Analytics
Like almost all web platforms, SwiftUtils logs non-identifying technical data when pages are requested. These standard logs contain:
- Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (processed with anonymization)
- Browser type and version (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
- Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Referring / exit pages and platform timestamps
- Number of clicks and requested page resources
We utilize Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and self-hosted server metrics (GoAccess) to understand aggregate traffic flows, identify broken links, monitor uptime, and optimize tool usability. Microsoft Clarity captures session interactions (such as mouse movements, scroll depth, and clicks) to detect user experience issues and site bugs. This behavioral data is completely pseudonymized.
4. Cookies and Web Beacons
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. SwiftUtils uses cookies solely for:
- Storing your aesthetic preferences (such as Dark/Light theme mode).
- Recording your cookie consent choice.
- Enabling third-party advertising partners (Google AdSense) to deliver relevant ad units.
You can instruct your web browser to refuse all cookies or to notify you when a cookie is being sent via your browser's security settings.
5. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Rights
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), you possess certain statutory data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- The Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
- The Right to Rectification: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate data.
- The Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request deletion of your personal data under certain legal conditions.
- The Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict processing of your personal information.
- The Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data.
- The Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request transfer of gathered data to another organization.
Because SwiftUtils does not require account creation, registration, or user profile logins, we do not store databases linking names or emails to tool usage history.
6. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents are afforded distinct privacy protections:
- Right to Know: You may request disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal information collected.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of any personal information collected from you.
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: We do not sell your personal data for monetary consideration. Third-party advertising cookies used by Google AdSense may qualify as "sharing" under California law; you can opt out through our Cookie Consent banner or industry opt-out portals.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Protecting the privacy of young children is paramount. SwiftUtils does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that your child has provided personal information on our website, please contact us immediately, and we will promptly purge such records.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological advancements, legal amendments, or operational modifications. Any updates will be published directly on this page with a revised "Last Updated" timestamp.
